  • Supervise CAD Technicians, Examiners, Status Coordinator and Invoicer to ensure jobs are analyzed, drafted, checked, and submitted to R.P.L.S. accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Work with Human Resources and Senior CAD Tech in hiring and training of new CAD employees
  • Ensure CAD Technicians, Examiners, Status Coordinator and Invoicer are provided with the training and equipment necessary for them to perform their job duties.
  • Review and approve reports and evaluations
  • Coordinate issues with other departments
  • Prepare performance appraisals for CAD Technicians, Examiners, Status Coordinator and Invoicer
  • Attend CFT meetings and Head up departmental CFT and Informational Meetings
  • Perform other duties as needed

  • Prioritize incoming jobs
  • Change status of jobs in computerized tracking system
  • Keep open lines of communication between CAD tech and other departments regarding survey issues
  • Deliver jobs to other departments for additional documentation
  • Deliver jobs requiring correction to CAD Technicians
  • Prepare and maintain reports assigned by manager
  • Monitor workflow to ensure jobs are prepared on time
  • Conduct a 10 am and 2 pm Status Meeting for the company

Job Description

CAD TECHNICIAN (metes and bounds)

 

Job Purpose: To produce true and accurate title surveys in a timely manner using CAD drafting utilities and the information gathered by the other departments of PLS

 Supervisor: CAD Department Coordinator

Essential Job Results

  • Construct an initial sketch based on recorded plats or deeds
  • Performing calculations to determine property boundaries using field measurements and recorded property descriptions.
  • Add all easements, improvements, and all other permanent structures that lie within the limit of our property
  • Produce Legal description of the subject property.
  • Address any easements or agreements that could affect our property
  • Convey findings of calculations to the RPLS when reviewing survey with regards to the boundary determination and Easements affecting the survey.
  • To put out an accurate survey in a timely manner with minimal errors

  • Assist other CAD Technician’s in boundary problems
  • Consult with field crews, examiners, R.P.L.S., and persons from other departments for guidance or clarification when required
  • Draw form surveys, lot stakes, and write metes & bounds descriptions
  • Back up for Examination
  • Perform duties of CAD Technician
  • Supervise performance of new CAD Technician’s
  • Provide sufficient training to new CAD Technician to allow them to become faster and more accurate
  • Prepare performance appraisals weekly for new CAD Technician

  • Fax survey & invoice to client
  • Fold oversized surveys in preparation for delivery
  • Transport large surveys/faxables to R.P.L.S. for signature
  • File all field packs from previous days work
  • File all folders in numeric order from previous days work in file room
  • Check status of jobs in computerized tracking system to help with filing
  • Perform other administrative duties, as assigned by manager
  • Perform user maintenance on printers located in the CAD Department
  • Assist other departments with filing on an as-need basis
  • Flex hours mid-morning to early afternoon

  • Work very closely with the RPLS to learn the Precise Way

STATUS CLERK

Job Purpose: To assist the CAD Department with file movement to other departments and within the department.

Supervisor: CAD Department Manager

Essential Tasks:

  • Prioritize incoming tasks in job bins
  • Move files from RPLS to Invoicer to be completed
  • Communicate with other departments to resolve issues on jobs to ensure completion in a timely manner
  • Check status of jobs in computerized tracking system to:
    • Keep files moving in a timely manner
    • Make/check notes on jobs as necessary
    • Help with filing of field packs
  • Perform other administrative duties, as assigned by manager
    • Payroll
    • Team Production Totals
    • Complete Absentee forms
    • Ensure the department has proper office supplies (paper, toner, etc.)
  • File all field packs from previous days work
